idle hands are the devil's playground

So we started the day with the intent to clean... everything. Do the laundry, clean the bathroom, vacuum... the works.

So we started with striping the bed and rotating the mattress... which of course intrigued Pushkin's inquiring mind... →

We got part of the brass head board polished... it was frickin' hard work... →

So we took a break from the heavy fumes that permeated our studio for lunch in the Quad... →

...visited the First National Bank of Audrey →

(When she was here and we played in the Quad, she deposited her coins from her purse here.)

...and made a new friend

But the fumes might have been getting to us a bit... ↓

Becky, that's you on the phone... and Doug being excited about your interview... →

So while Beka went to get Saran Wrap, Doug made pizza dough for our dinner...

Apparently Eva got in the way...

When Beka walked in the door, all she heard was, "uh-oh, Mommy's home."

A couple of Jenny's pics from when she visited us in New York...

Celebrate!!!

Why you ask?
Because Doug got an interview!!
(and we like cake over death)

And we got fish that Beka really likes! →

No! The Mets!

Drinks after in Times Square... sadly cheaper and way better quality than ballpark beer. ↓

Proof...

...that Pushkin can be an ass. When he manages to get out in the hall, he lays down and starts rolling around like a pig wallowing in mud.

Sailing on the Hudson

We were invited by Beka's bosses to go sailing on the Hudson. It turns out to be an educational boat where people can volunteer for a week to learn to be an environmental educator and help run programs for other school groups. They also do tours at night for the public. The boat itself is an antique, made in the 1960s, and has the biggest sail in the US, weighing 3,000 lbs.

Look! It's home! →

Pretty much amazing.
And while there were three Reverands on the boat (just that we knew of), and we were offered the chance to get married on a sailboat at sunset on a beautiful summer night, we have not yet eloped.

Coney Island!

Of Course... →

This throw back to the 80s makes Beka laugh... →

We made our way to the Cyclone... for a group of people who have been on some pretty fantastic roller coasters, we all agreed this was way better than expected and possibly one of the best... →

Needless to say, Beka laughed the whole way.

"Secure hats, wigs, and glasses" ↓

We made our way to the Boardwalk →

Shoot the Freak? Doug and Jenny are trying to catch a glimpse of this freak →

Beka is still wondering why this 'wise guy' isn't wearing pants...

Some statue nearby

We took the Ferry while Jenny was in town (after narrowly avoiding getting on the Statten Island Ferry and making it through security).

So we didn't stop at liberty island, but did stop at Ellis Island.
