everyone's your friend in new york city...

Beka's brother's fiancee, Kelly, was in town with a friend for work. So we saw the town... and Doug and Beka couldn't get "New York City" out of their heads.

Let's be real here people. There isn't even running water on the moon. →

cake

There was leftover fondant from the last cake, so Beka made a carrot cake and used up the rest of the fondant on that and a flower decoration.

blue parakeet in the outlet by the light switch?

Out of no where, we noticed a blue parakeet on our fire escape. Beka tried to help it until she saw its claws and was afraid to stick her finger out for a perch (seriously... you see those things?).

So we just left some water and raw sunflower seeds out and showed the cats the bird... its gone now, we don't know what happened to it... our neighbor asked if it was ours and gave it some cheerios. Maybe it doesn't like cheerios and sunflower seeds.

To celebrate Doug's admittance, Beka made cake (with a lion on top), had a couple friends over and caught up with them.

fourth of july

After a few set backs like rain and police restrictions, we made it into a park on the river and enjoyed grilled foods, apples to apples, good company with old and new friends and eventually fireworks...

There was also 3/4 Casa de Prize reunion for Roy, Matt, and Doug.
