we're not dead, just really busy

We've been gone for a while.

Many of you have asked if our blog was broken. Some of you asked where we went.

This fall, Doug started school at Columbia and Beka started a new job. We have stayed incredibly busy and thus have had less time for cooking, but have managed to squeeze in various fall and cold weather favorites and even a holiday meal.

We've had some friends come to visit — Nate and Laura came during a tropical storm that we made the best of and the last weekend for Coney Island. Min and Nicole (and baby bump, a.k.a. owlgator) came up for a weekend. Becky, Pep, and Audrey came for a quick visit. Monique and Rose came up for a cold weekend. And the Weinrichs (all of them!) made it to the city for a windy and cold day earlier this week.

If this wasn't excitement enough, we've been trying to keep up with the Gators football season. We've been anticipating the National Championship all season long. (Especially after getting a new TV that is worth watching football on.)

In between all this, We've eaten curried goat with state representatives, played in a huge toy store, one of us turned 30, we got ready for Xmas, let the cats be cats, and got a new camera.

Updates on the rest of Christmas soon...
