beka is older than she's ever been

Beka woke up to a horn in the bed... really. They were hidden all over the apartment. It could be payback for the harmonicas...

He also got her lenses for the camera, and new earrings.

We went to dinner at Serendipity, which was absolutely fantastic.

We decided to walk for a little bit and went in Dylan's Candy Bar.

When we got home, there was one last present. Doug added on to this present and Beka's undying love for ice cream.

birthday cake

After this, Beka ever so happily made her own birthday cake. It was dark chocolate devil's food with buttercream frosting.

While in the past Beka has made some fancier cakes... this one was nice and simple and delicious.

wishing for summer

While Eva cuddles on the couch, Beka looks for signs of spring and wants to eat things of summer (kabobs and cherries).

wow

So there is only one item that we have purposely waited to put on a wedding registry... one item that we said, we really really want one, but can live without it and it is the type of thing you ask for when you get married...

And Beka's brother and sister in law got it for them for a christmas/birthday/early wedding present.

Beka doesn't know what to make first.

We are incredibly grateful and thankful.

date night

We got to have a date night. We walked around Union Square, had some dinner, got some new vinyls, and saw a movie (Last Chance Harvey).

skylight?

After Monday's incident, the super didn't show on Tuesday, but we weren't too worried. We probably should have been.

Wednesday went like normal -- Doug got home before Beka. He heard something from the bathroom and when he looked there was a full fledged waterfall from the ceiling.

After a few mere moments, the ceiling buckled under the pressure and collapsed.

By the time Beka got home, the super was there helping to clean up the bathroom.

Found in the debris: a burgundy polo shirt, spool of thread, and cigarette butts.

Lost in the debris: 5 pairs of Beka's earrings, both of our toothbrushes and various other bathroom things that couldn't be cleaned...
