where'd we go?

Okay, so we haven't been the best at posting lately. Doug has been busy with work and his promotion. Beka has been busy working and playing with Sam. In between all of this, we are still searching for a new apartment.

We have been looking for said new apartment seriously since late November. Since our first one we've seen at least fourteen apartments, inquired about countless others, been stood up by two supers/brokers, and been turned down twice when we finally applied.

Today Beka saw 4 apartments. This was the courtyard to the first. Besides the 3 security cameras, we would be protected by Thelma and Louise — two kitties that play in the courtyard (Can you see them? One under each of the potted plants... click on it to zoom).

A week or so ago we were walking around Inwood and walked past this complex and went, whoa, this is fancy. Too bad the apartment Beka saw in there today wasn't that great...

This was the view of the park from the fourth apartment. But again, not crazy about the apartment.

Doug is seeing the place with the kittie gargoyles tommorrow and we have an appointment to see a 2 bedroom in the morning... fingers crossed?

kittie mani/pedi

Both of them hate getting their talons trimmed even the slightest bit, but when they have trouble walking across the carpet because their claws get stuck or we can hear Pushkin clicking on the wood floor, we know its time.

fuel

Challah French Toast.

A good breakfast before seeing a really, really good apartment.

The second really, really good apartment in two days.

Fingers crossed.

save room for pushkin

Pushkin, our moody and often unwanting to 'cuddle' like a normal cat, has decided that he deserves to be on the couch at all times — even if someone or something else is there (right now he is sleeping on the cords and headphones for Beka's mom).

help?

This is an ad on a pay phone down Broadway.

But, yeah, this Beka is still scheduled to graduate this May. :)

little creepy

Becky,

Doug likes his Christmas presents...
Pushkin doesn't.

Serves him right.

new cookbooks

Beka made penne in a creamy mushroom sauce for dinner. She got two new cookbooks yesterday :)

We're also all updated from our brief hiatus to Florida, Phillie, plus New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

capital one bowl...

Apparently our favorite Gator bar had quite the New Year's celebration the night before. They were out of some beers, their cooks didn't show, their waitress was late, and they ended up ordering pizza for the crowd that still showed for the game. They felt so bad we got $5 off the original price and we are being mailed $25 bar tabs (so yes, in a weird way, we profitted $5 each by going).

So we (Matt, Dana, Katy, Jesse, Beka, Doug) entertained ourselves with leftover balloons during halftime.

This photo was made possible by Dana taking a picture at almost the same time as Beka and only part of the flash coming out.

It couldn't have been nicer... oh, wait, maybe if the gators had won.
Doug is holding out for Tebow getting 3 heismans.

party like it's 19... um...

We decided to go to our local on-campus pub for some New Year's Eve festivities and celebration.

I feel like Pub just isn't always complete without Peter and dancing. :)
